AR 5.3

Did you ever feel out of place?  Well, Lady Katsa does.  Katsa is an 18 year-old orphan that lives with her uncle, King Randa.  Randa uses Katsa for his dirty business, until she meets Prince Green Grandmalion.  He tells Katsa to call him “Po.” Then Katsa and Po go on an adventure she will never forget!  I would recommend this book to people who like romance and adventure.

Ever tried to say something, but just couldn’t?  Well, Melody has it ten times worse.  She can’t walk, or talk for that matter.  Melody has cerebral palsy.  And when you think of those special ed. Kids, you’d think “Ew, their so gross and dumb.” But when you see the world through Melody’s eyes, you just might change your mind.  I recommend this book to most everyone, since most people could relate.

I thought this book was really good.  It was not that long, which I liked.  It’s a graphic novel, which I enjoyed because it’s not a long book with a lot of words!  I recommend this book for those who like comic books.

Leviathan

By Scott Westerfeld
AR 5.3

Does World War I interest you?  If it does, then this story will greatly intrigue you with its twist—Germany, Austria, and Hungary, a.k.a.  the “Clankers, “ use epic machines.  Britain, France,  and Russia, the “Darwinists” create entirely new species.  The two are at war, yet and Austrian prince, Alek, and a British pilot, Daryn, somehow meet.  Who will win?  Will Alek and Deryn remain friends? Pick up the book, and find out!  I recommend this book because it’s a mix between historical fiction and fantasy.  It adds a creative twist that really makes WWI even more intriguing.

This book is about a girl who gets matched (romantically) to her best friend!  She falls in love with another boy and tragedy strikes.  Will this problem result in an epic ending? Read to find out!  I would recommend this book for romance lovers.

Cathcing Fire

By Suzanne Collins

A handful of poison berries.  Some flowers.  The only tools Katniss Everdeen needs to undermine the Capitol's authority.  A visit from the Capitol's leader confirms her suspicion--she was the spark that set the abused district citizens on fire.  Can she settle the rebels before she is punished?  Can she reverse all damage done to the integrity of the Capitol?  And most importantly, can she forget her nightmares and lead a happy life?
