AR
RL 5.8
PTS 11.0

Miles Halter has just entered boarding school with no idea about his future. There he meets his roommate "The Colonel," Takumi and the beautiful Alaska. Together they learn new things, ask questions, and explore. Soon enough, Miles falls in love with Alaska. He wants to spend time with her, to get to know her. Looking for Alaska is an exciting novel that is not to be missed! I would recommend this book to students with a craving for exciting and emotional stories.

The Fault in Our Stars

By John Green

AR
RL 5.5
PTS 10.0

Hazel Grace Lancaster was diagnosed at age 12 with advanced thyroid cancer. Now Hazel is 16 and her parents are forcing her to attend a cancer support group. Still sick from cancer, Hazel is healing, and one day she meets Augustus Waters in the support group. Handsome and generous, Augustus Waters was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. As they meet, Hazel falls in love with 17 year old Augustus. I would recommend this book to people who love romance! This book has also been turned into a movie. You will really like this book if you like realistic fiction, as this book is very similar to a real life story. There are a lot of things that will make you cry in this book. You will be so sad towards the end of the book, . . . . . . . will die!!!

The Infinite Sea

By Rick Yancey

AR
RL 4.7
PTS 11.0

After Cassie Sullivan and her friends survived the harsh four waves from The Others, they are all trying to survive the destructive, murderous fifth wave. They only have two options to survive: one option is to wait for Mr. Evan Walker to return while trying to survive injuries in the harsh, cold temperatures of winter; or set out to find a better shelter than a hotel and to find other survivors. There will be lies told, hearts broken, suffering, and lastly killing. This group of survivors will know the difference between life and death, hope and despair, and most of all love and hate. I would recommend this book to people who liked the first book, "The 5th Wave." This is the second book of the 5th Wave, so you do need to read the first book before reading this one. There are more secrets that you will learn while reading this book. You just have to read it to find those secrets off! You will finish this book the same day you get it!

Daughter of Smoke and Bone

Karou may seem to have a normal life; going to college at an art school in Prague, having her super best friend (Zuzana), and an ex-boyfriend who wants to get back together. But, Karou has the most unbelievable life ever. She was innocent once, a little girl playing with feathers in the devil's lair. Now she is a 17 year old art student with blue hair that grows from her head and who speaks 15 languages. Karou also runs errands for Brimstone, a chimaera who is the closest thing she has to a father. Brimstone's number one rule is to not be curious, but the only thing Karou has ever wanted is to know who she really is. I would recommend this book to people who are really into fantasy and romance. This book focuses mostly on finding out who you really are. You might be intimidated by the size of this book, but don't be because every single page of this book has little clues about Karou. In some of the chapters they change the point of view of the character. This is truly an impressive book!

Etiquette and Espionage

By Gail Carriger

AR
RL 5.4
PTS 11.0

Sophronia isn't the most well-mannered young lady, so her mother enrolls her in "Mademoiselle Geraldine's Finishing School for Young Ladies of Quality." Sophronia is not aware that she will learn more than just dance, dresses, and etiquette, but she will also learn the fine art of espionage and assassination. Here, among her new friends, Sophronia will encounter vampires, werewolves, and a mysterious prototype. I would recommend this book to people who like books based on boarding schools, mechanics, as well as people who like characters who are always looking for answers.
