Eon

By Alison Goodman
AR
RL 5.5
PTS 21.0

In an ancient Asian-based universe, women are deemed less important than men, and thus are unable to become holders of “dragon power.”  Every two years, one of the twelve dragons ascend, and choose a candidate.  Eon’s master plays a dangerous game by sending him, a lame boy, as a candidate.  It’s not about the crippled leg, it’s the fact that Eon, is a girl.  I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance, fantasy, and, of course, dragons.  I feel the writing style was similar to the Inheritance Cycle, so if you liked those books, you may like this as well.
